An analysis of a crude oil, performed by an independent laboratory, Intertek http://www.intertek.com/, which was added the additive BFO.
Two tests were conducted, the first with a BFO dosage of 1% and the second with a dosage of 3%.
Water and Sediments: A significant decrease. Which benefited the behavior of the fuel oil and improved its combustion.
Flash Point: The ignition temperature was reduced considerably, improving the combustibility of the product.
Total Acid Number T.A.N.: Remained within the area of non-corrosion.
Gross Calorific Value: Was slightly improved, although it was insignificant.
Biological Colony Count: With the application of 1% additive a reduction of 30% of colonies occurred and with a 3% additive application, a reduction of 70% was obtained.
This reduction of the bacterial colonies is very important in order to prevent the growth of microorganisms, responsible for the known "mucus" of gas oil, or fuel oil, which causes clogging of the fuel injectors of the burners.
